working for free
The GFC deepens...
British Airways have just announced that they're asking all of their staff to work for one month for free, to help the company avoid collapse.
BA workers have now been given until June 24 to volunteer to work for free for a month, with the salary deductions expected to be spread over a period of several months if possible.
It's a pretty massive ask! Apparently, the month of 'no pay' can be spread across several months. It's a strange request - it seems more hectic, than, for instance, asking their staff to take a voluntary 5%-10% pay cut for the foreseeable future.. Hmm. Ce-razy times.
