~ week-o-fun ~

This week has been Wicked!!

It's been suuper busy and fun, beginning with the MAC Style Black party we went to on Wednesday (a school night!) to celebrate their new Spring collection. Bertie Blackman performed, and the party officially introduced my amazingly talented friend Nicole Thompson as the new Senior Artist for MAC Australia: she is seriously, stupidly good at what she does, and she killed it on the night! She's the blonde wearing the fabulous sky-high bow:

Needless to say, woke up Thursday morning nursing very sore heads :)

Friday night we had a lovely dinner and long-overdue catch up with Jane & George, and on Saturday during the day, I went to a friend Andrea's Hens Party - where we did life drawing. O.M.G! I'm such a dork that I burst into giggles as soon as the model dropped his towel. I can now draw doodles - both absentminded scrawls and the appendage - like nobody's business...

Then on Saturday night, we went to see Wicked, The Musical!! It was AWESOME!! I've read the book (amazing) and I've seen the Broadway show in New York, and I reckon the Sydney version was just as good.

We were lucky enough to score free tickets to the show and the after party, the highlight of which was entering through the stage door - we got to walk backstage and see all the costumes lined up, the props, the sets... totally magic!Wicked cast at the after party

The post-show party, though, was the perfect example of how people make the difference at an event. It had all the right ingredients - lots of free drinks, canapes, coiffed guests, beautifully decorated venue... but we didn't know a single person there! There were loads of familiar faces, like soap stars, news readers, morning show hosts and reality TV judges, but no-one we could hang out with and chat to. We only stayed for a couple of bev's and a handful of mini-quiches before we headed home.
The magic, disassembled: we saw them packing up the grand "green carpet" entrance as we wandered to Central Station

And finally yesterday, we hung out with our friends Linc & Michael, who'd come down from the Blue Mountains for the day. We had crepes for brunch then Michael went to sing with a choir in Woollhara, and David went off to a work meeting - so Linc and I went shopping at Bondi Junction and gave the credit card a surprise workout! Super fun day.

Last night, we topped the weekend off with a cheeky meal with Adam and Nicole at The Point in Pyrmont, and now: I am absolutely and completely exhausted.

All in all we had a fabulous, hectic, fun week (in between all of the above, I did loads of work, too!) but I don't know how social butterflies keep this up on a regular basis. It takes loads of effort!! I need about a month to recover :)
