Gen Y is the biggest bunch of over-sharers. I'm Gen Y, so I'm allowed to criticise my own kind. I don't even know if the bunch of Virgin Atlantic staff that were fired for Facebook indecrepancies were Gen Y, but judging by Virgin's propencity to employ pretty young things, it's a pretty safe bet.

So Virgin Atlantic sacked 13 cabin staff after the now-unemployed crew chatted via Facebook, complaining about "chav" passengers and discussing the airline's planes as being overrun with cockroaches. The airline even released a statement about the misconduct:

"Virgin Atlantic can confirm that 13 members of its cabin crew will be leaving the company after breaking staff policies due to totally inappropriate behaviour. Following a thorough investigation, it was found that all 13 staff participated in a discussion on the networking site Facebook, which brought the company into disrepute and insulted some of our passengers."

Yikes: People need to roll it back to email, and fill Facebook walls with bland, un-controversial comments, like "Your profile pic is cute!" or "Let's hang out this weekend?" Imagine being fired over some throw-away comments on Facebook!
